Katy & Vinny

In July, in the midst of our winter & their summer, I had the privilege to travel over to the UK to photograph the wedding of one of my oldest friends (we've in fact known each other for over 40 years!).

It was all a bit different as I got stuck in setting up reception tables & supergluing rustic elements to jam jars…..but I loved every minute.

Katy & Vinny put on a blinder of a day & the British summer was spot on perfect.
From a traditional church ceremony, swishing through wheat fields & a country garden, onto a vintage tea party & finishing with a dance off that ended in the bride taking it out with the 'caterpillar'.....this wedding was so much fun!

Katy chose a beautiful necklace that trailed down her back & bore the birth stones of each of her children & the pink & white flowers matched perfectly. At the church, flowers adorned the entrance way in pretty rustic jugs & were tied to each of the pews. English churches have a certain quaint charm & St Luke’s had some beautiful kneelers decorated with images of oast houses from the Kent countryside.

Katy & Vinny’s daughter’s, Jessica & Phoebe, made beautiful flower girls & bridesmaids & their son, Ethan, took his role of best man very seriously!

Vintage china sets & afternoon cream teas with cucumber sandwiches & scones made this wedding a tourist’s dream! I certainly felt like a tourist after coming ‘home’ after 7 years since my last visit.

Please take me back to the sunshine & warmth!
