Jasmine & Jayme
When Jasmine first contacted me, I had a feeling that this wedding was going to be just a bit special & I certainly wasn't disappointed!
Jasmine & Jayme travelled back 'home' to New Zealand from Australia to be wed at Okurukuru Winery on the 5th March 2016.
The boys started their preparations the day before with haircuts, beard trims & head shaves at Jetcharm. The following day saw them dressing in op-shop suits & ties & jumping in the river at Corbett Park in Oakura.......now that's one way to have a wash before your wedding day!
The girls were made to look stunning & dressed in pale pink dresses. Jasmine's dress was amazing! In the lead up to the wedding I asked her about the dress, her style & locations for photos. When she replied: 'it has pink in it and it's floral and feminine and I’m not really into any of those things but I guess it’s like finding the right man, when you know you know and you make it work'.....I just knew it was going to be intriguing! So after Jasmine said 'can we just say the style is: “stuff we like and stuff the dress likes".' I based my location scouting on a dress!!
The winery looked magnificent; decorated with a beach theme, elegant pink cut glass decanters, delicate pink flowers & drift wood. Jayme's Dad had fashioned an arch from driftwood that was adorned with flowers & helped frame a perfect backdrop overlooking the sea. The couple's two children looked quite the part & Jai even had the important job of holding onto the rings!
I'm pretty much guaranteed to blub at most weddings ( I'm a sucker for the sentimental moments) & when Jasmine's Dad delivered her into Jayme's safe hands & greeted him with a heartfelt hongi, I have to admit I struggled to focus my lens.
These guys were up for a jaunt around the coast & we visited beaches, vinyards, corn fields & derelict houses. Lots of sunshine, laughs & photo opportunities later; the day was finished off with amazing food from Danger, fun speeches, a haka (that sent chills down your spine) & dancing. We even managed to slip in a few photographs on the lawn before we totally lost the last rays of the day.
It was such a fabulous wedding & probably one of my favourites to date! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of it. X
