Moody Blue Styled Shoot
Inspired by the idea of breaking with tradition, I wanted to create a same-sex styled photo shoot that was elegant, moody & untamed.
Working with some of the most talented folks in the wedding industry helped to bring my ideas to life & the results speak for themselves! We were so lucky with a blue sky day & lots of sunshine amongst a winter of rain. I am also blown away with the my beautiful models Holly & Milca who, despite never modelling before, pulled these shots off with ease & elegance.
We wanted to push boundaries with dress colour & dramatic styling. The raw wooden trestle table & benches worked well in contrast with the rich, black sands of the Taranaki coastline, & the yellows & gold of the sandstone cliffs complemented the soft blues of the hand dyed wedding skirt. These brass tones were echoed in the candlesticks, lanterns, gold foiled invitations, golden lettering on the agate place names & the edible gold leaf of the cake.
Feathers, ferns & toi toi added a natural & loose element to the bouquet that included a statement king protea & blush roses. Hand dyed silk ribbons floating delicately in the wind, completed the look.
We're really excited that NZ Bride & Groom magazine have chosen to feature these images in an editorial in their current spring issue.
