Janine & Dildaar
Dildaar & Janine created a bright & exotic splash of colour when they were married on the Band Lawn at Pukekura Park. Traditional Indian saris, lots of gold, sparkly embellishments & a first dance that morphed into something out of Bollywood, made their day incredibly special.
For their ceremony in the park, Janine & Dildaar wore traditional western attire; a dark suit & a white, lace wedding dress & then changed for their reception. Janine had the most beautiful red, purple & gold sari from India & Dildaar had a matching silk shirt & skirt. The Band Lawn as a ceremony location, was a special choice for Janine being a member of the band.
Janine had chosen an accent colour of purple that featured in almost all of the details! From the ties & cake to the bridesmaid saris & flowers....even the reception was lit with purple lights.
We ventured into Pukekura park for photographs & then onto Lake Mangamahoe for the last gold rays of sunshine before heading back to the hotel venue for the reception.
From Janine & Dildaar's wedding, I have learnt a lot about saris. It seems that different areas of India have different styles & ways of wearing them & for something that is 'simply a long piece of fabric', I can assure you that a lot of folding, pleating, pinning, pulling & wrapping goes into it! Next time I won't underestimate the time that it takes to put one on!
Following their first dance, the wedding party hit the dance floor & let loose! It was almost a competition to find space on the dance floor & nobody stayed still for long!
Thank you to Aimee for helping me out & enjoying the sunshine!
